Effective: August 3, 2026. These terms govern your use of Bar Famous (www.barfamous.com), operated by Bar Famous ('we', 'us'). By creating an account, claiming a coin, or using the site, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
What Bar Famous coins are
Bar Famous coins are digital collectibles tied to participating bars. Coins confer no equity, ownership, revenue share, profit interest, dividend, or governance right in any bar or in Bar Famous, and they are not offered or promoted as investments or securities.
Each participating bar's coin supply is fixed at mint — exactly 1,000 coins, with no reissues and no expansion. A portion of each mint is reserved by the bar; the remainder is claimable by patrons. If a bar closes, its supply is frozen and the record remains.
Claiming coins
- Coins are claimed in person at participating bars for $5 each, paid by card through Stripe.
- A location eligibility check runs at claim time; claims are available only where the service operates.
- Serial numbers are assigned in claim order — the lowest serials go to whoever claims first.
- Newly minted coins may not be listed for public sale during their initial 90-day window.
Transfers and fees
Collectors may transfer coins at a fixed listed price on The Floor, the platform's transfer surface. Bar Famous charges a platform fee on each sale, disclosed at the time of listing. Bars earn from primary claims; bars do not receive a royalty on secondary transfers.
Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. Except where the law requires otherwise, claims and purchases are final. If you believe a charge is in error, contact hello@barfamous.com before disputing it with your card issuer so we can help.
Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in methods (email, phone) up to date.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Sign-in uses one-time email links and text passcodes; never share them.
- One account per person. You may close your account at any time from account settings.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: misrepresent your identity or location, or circumvent eligibility checks; interfere with the service, including scraping, automated claiming, or evading rate limits; use the platform for money laundering or any unlawful purpose; or manipulate claims or transfers to defraud other collectors or bars.
Participating bars
Bars join under an onboarding agreement presented at signup. Bars keep full ownership and control of their business — coins create no obligation to any coin holder beyond what these terms describe. Bar payouts are made through Stripe Connect.
Disclaimers
The service is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind. Coins have no guaranteed value; do not claim or acquire them with any expectation of profit. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes, termination, and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here and require re-acceptance before continued use. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
